April Fools 2019 Round Up

Every year we get a little giddy about April Fools’ Day. And why not? It’s the perfect opportunity for us and our lovely clients to have fun and get behind some great creative ideas. Research shows that humour is one of the most effective ways to get noticed and remembered by consumers too. Here’s a round-up of what we all got up to this year.

The Real Yorkshire Pudding Company – Baby Pudin’

After running the TRYPC social account for a few years now, we know we have some die-hard Yorkshire Pudding fans. So this April Fools’ we wanted to celebrate our community’s never-ending obsession with the pudding.

Enter ultimate fans Chris & Eva Pudin, and their new arrival.

The idea was that Chris & Eva Pudin were so overjoyed at the arrival of their little baby boy on National Yorkshire Pudding Day they christened him ‘Yorkshire’. TRYPC were so pleased by his new name that they gave the family a lifetime supply of Yorkshire puddings.

This was executed through a news-style video featuring still images and an interview with the couple and their baby boy.

Corona Energy – Buzzin’ Office

B2B energy supplier, Corona Energy are proud of their new home at Croxley Park. They’ve got multiple sustainable schemes, including recycling, solar panels and they do their bit to look after the bees. Corona Energy pride themselves on how well they look after their staff, investing heavily in creating a great working environment for all. So, for April Fools’, we introduced some unusual new office pets.

It’s well documented that office pets help reduce stress. Put that together with Corona Energy’s sustainable ventures and it was clear that bees were the perfect choice for their buzziness – ahem.

ABI Holiday Homes – Special Delivery

At ABI, every little thing matters. We work with ABI to ensure they make everything tip-top, so that their customers can enjoy the very best holidays. Having already created holiday homes that are head and shoulders above the competition, we decided to help them take their delivery service to new heights. After months of research and development and close collaboration with our parks, ABI were delighted to unveil Holiday Drone Delivery.

You’ll have no doubt heard about pizza and parcel companies improving their deliveries with the help of drones. Well, we decided it was high time ABI harnessed the power, manoeuvrability and speed of drones as well. And as a result, we’ve made it even easier for customers to start enjoying their ABI life.

Hisense – The Brexit Button

It’s all anybody has been talking about and we’re here to cut out the loud noise for you. Introducing, the Hisense Brexit button.

We worked closely with Hisense to introduce a button on their remote that means any talk of Brexit on your TV is immediately replaced with TV shows featuring puppies and all things lovely. Put your feet up, relax and let Hisense make your life easier. We may not really be able to block any Brexit news, but you can actually instantly hop over to Netflix at the touch of a button!

The Mighty Society – Down on the farm

Peas have udders?! You heard it here first.

We went behind the scenes with our client, The Mighty Society, at one of their magical pea milking farms… We met pea dairy farmer, Peter Poddington, as he explains how he looks after his herd of free range peas and how the latest trend in pea milk has helped boost his dairy business

Faremine – Mission to Mars

Our B2B travel client, Faremine traditionally run monthly incentives for independent travel agents. This month we wanted to give them an out of this world offer. We exclusively launched their newest destination, Borealis Basin, the beautiful red beaches of Mars.
